Mid-term exam

Wow, I finished my mid-term exam which was my first one in the University of Calgary yesterday. It’s so excited. Some of them were not very difficult, but I thought listening was a little bit hard. Maybe it was long so that I could not follow some words of it.
During one month studying, I believed my English skills had improved, but I also needed to practice as much as possible. Because speaking and listening could be better and better as long as you use mostly.
I hoped I could get good marks, and the same as everybody.

Mid-autumn Day

To Chinese people, Mid-autumn Day has special meaning, it represents reunion. On that day, families can sit around a big table to have a dinner together, they talk with each other and share their experiences. What is more important, people can eat mooncakes and accept the good wishes from the others.
To me, Mid-autumn Day was more special this year. I left home and went to study in Calgary which was a really strange city. Although I called my parents almost everyday, I could feel a little bit lonely sometimes, because this was the first time I lived on my own. However, I still had friends here who also came from China. On Mid-autumn Day, we bought lots of food and had an excellent dinner. We prepared food and cooked them all by ourselves, and the experience was exactly unforgetable. We all were feeling the diverse atmosphere of the meaningful reunion during the dinner and I believed every one could have their own thinking at that time.Morever, we definitely ate some mooncakes which were very expensive.~~~

Calgary

I have been here for a month so that I have many feelings and discoveries. Maybe a month is not a long time for almost people, but for me it is , a person who comes to a new place.
In the beginning days, I did many things with my friends who came from China too in such a strange city. We applied for U-pass, bought cellphone, deposited money, purchaesd stuff and so forth. Wow, crazy~~~It was difficult for us who came here for the first time, but doing all things by ourselves was also indispensable.
Now, I am familiar with this vigorous city which is my new home from now on. The climate here is immensely comfortable for people living and there is no pollution almostly. Morever, the people of Calgary are really hospitable and friendly, when you are in trouble , they can try their best to help you, even though they do not know you. Furthemore, the transportion here included C-trian and bus is very effecitive and convenient so that people need not waste their time on the way.
On the other hand, I know many friends who come from Iran, Russia, HongKong and so on.We study together every day and recognize each other's country deeply. My teacher Regina is kind-hearted and humorous, she does a big favourfor me in English. With her help, I am confident to learn English well and make a progress in the furture.
To me , I have adapted the new life here, and I will do my best to study well. I believe I can deal with the difficulties which I may encounter bravely.
