Great Changes

Nowadays, we are in a new millennium, we can assume there will be changes in the world. I predict that the changes will be in the areas of information dissemination, global alliances, and family structure.

In the past decades, the computer was responsible for changing the way information was organized. Now, the computer plus the Internet is changing the way information is spread. Information will now be universally available to anyone with a computer. You will not have to go to libraries to do research; you will not have to travel to visit scholars; you will not have to go to a bookstore to buy a book. You can do all of this from your home on the computer.

In the past decades, the nations of the world aligned themselves with the United States, the former Soviet Union, or with one another in a loose alliance. In the future, these alliances will be more fluid. Some countries will align politically with one country, but economically with another. Some countries will share technology and other information, but will not trade together. Some countries, which have long been enemies, will align militarily for regional security.

The family structure will not be based on a mother/father/child pattern. Single parent families will be more common and often the child will not be a biological child of the single parent, but will be adopted. Other family structures like domestic partnerships will become more accepted.

Whatever the changes may be, whether in the way we receive information, the way nations align with one another, or the way family units are defined, you can be sure that there will be more change. Change is a constant.

Pet~~~

Nearly everybody has ever kept one or more pets. There are dogs, cats, birds and even horses and gorillas. Many people treat them just like their own friends, boys or girls, brothers or sisters. But other people dislike keeping pets. Personally, I approve of such relationship because I think pets are so lively and easy-going.

First of all, sometimes people have to show their kindness to others. Pets are so beautiful and lively that everyone likes them. When pets are hungry, people cook delicious food for them, when pets are ill, people take care of them. The owners have to help their pets wash themselves and tell them stories and say goodnight to them. People may find it's very hard and tiring. But they also find they are so important to their pets.

In the other hand, Pets are so reliable and loyal. When the old feel lonely or sad, their pets stay at their sides. People can tell the pets their feelings, dreams and secrets. Not only will the pet listen to he or she, but it will also feel the same feelings as the narrator. They can help people get release and forget the sadness quickly. Pets do be our best friends. Although, as a matter of fact, some people have pointed out that sometimes pets can cause a lot of troubles. They may carry terrible diseases and they hurt you. Other people think the more time playing with pets, the more likely away from the society. That may not be very serious and even true. Pets are our good friends, they give us joy and also teach us how to communicate with us and build up friendship. So what we have to know is a little knowledge about protection and prevention.

From above, we need no hesitation to say that it is good for people to have a close relationship with their pets.

Enough Money =

If I have enough money, what should I do???

I will purchase a big house so that I can live and work comfortably. The house nearby the beach is my whole life dream when I was young. The advantage of a house is the shield of noisy without others, and is quiet and freely.

First, the basic essential for the people is living. Living is vital for the family in the world. We can conclude that the house is the aim pursuiting by the people. The whole day fatigue of person is replying on the sleeping in the big house which have the first-rate electric such as the airconditions, digital TV Sets, wireless cell phone, fridge, Water-machine, computer, notebook, etc. So, the house is important and necessary for the people every day.

Second, the enjoyment of house is evident, the entertainment with the colleague, relatives, friends, and family members to sing a song, dance by the music, do the piano, violin, etc. The wonderful party held in the house is available for the celebrate birthday or appointment. The house provides much more happiness for the people who delight it. The health and energy of person own his house will do better business. The people will contribute themselves to the big business for the great achievement. The people purchase the houses is rapidly growth annually. So, I will own my dream house because I extremely like it and design it with my full ideas so that it is beautiful and splendid.

University

Recently, I think more about the university. In China, more and more people try their best to attend college or university. What are the reasons that make people long for it?

First of all, in my opinion, the most important reason is to gain competence to live a better life in the future. Competition of people has become more and more drastic, and even a very simple job or low position will attract hundreds of candidates to apply for it. Only those who have a good education and general knowledge can gain better work. So, people should attend college or university for better competence.

Second, attending college or university can change people’s life. For example, my friend, he is a student from countryside. He is one of the few people who can attend college or university. Most of those who have not studied in college or university go to work early in a small factory in a small town or on a farm in their hometown. Just because he has taken higher education, he can get better chances to study or work in the capital of our country where a lot of people want to go to. Why? Good education gives him chances to change my life.

The third reason for attending a college is to increase knowledge. Study is a so interesting thing that it makes people’s life rich and colorful. It expands people’s eyesight by informing them with lots of new things what they cannot gain from their common life or experience. On the other hand, by attending college or university, people can learn the knowledge or skill necessary for their future work.

People attend college or university for various reasons. Some may attend for new experiences, and others may think about other things. What I have mentioned is just very few of them.

Leslie--GeGe

Leslie, the greatest actor in Hong Kong.

Yesterday, 2008, 4,1, Leslie has passed away for five years. However, he still lives in people’s mind and never be forgotten. Every year’s this moment, people will do many commemorations for him. They put his pictures in the star street and many flowers in the place where he suicided. Tears and beatitude are the only two things at this moment.

GeGe, Leslie was born in an ordinary family. When he grew up, he was sent to study in England. However, he had to come back to Hong Kong because of his father’s death. At this moment, there was a competition for singers in Hong Kong. Leslie attended this match and gained the second place. From then on, he played a role in Hong Kong.

Unfortunately, everything was bad for him at the beginning. His songs were not popular with people and nobody focused on him. However, he never gave up and still persisted to effort. In 1983, he became popular due to a song named <<>>. Then, he stared to publish records and hold concerts. In Asia even the world, he had lots of fans. He got more and more famous and started to do movies.

There were more than 60 movies he played. Actually, every role he did was really vivid and people considered that he was the role and the role was him. I saw all of his movies and my favorite was <>. Every line of this movie was classical.
On movie, he gained many awards and became a international super star.

However, due to the sentimental problem, he got dump. And on April 1, 2003, he suicided in Hong Kong. The world was shocked and sadness was full of that period. From then on, every year people regard him, the greatest singer and actor.

Now, I will tell you guys something about my favorite action movie—<>.

<> was produced in 1996. At that time, it was one of the best times for movie and movie was really flourishing in the 1990s. During this time, lots of famous movies were produced such as <>, <>, <>, <>, and <>.

The actors in this movie were really famous and they were Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage, and Ed Harris. Sean Connery is a very famous British actor. Although he is old now, he still has more passion for the film. Most of his movies are action ones such as <<James Bond 007: From Russia with Love>>, <<First Knight>>, and <<A Good Man in Africa>>. Nicolas Cage, who is one of the most popular actors in America, and he is also the hot one in Holleywood. He has attended lots of movies. For example, <<Lord of War>>, <<National Treasure>>, and <<City of Angels>>. To Ed Harris, maybe he is not very famous, but he is also really important actor in America. The main movies he attended were <<Empire Falls>>, <<Just a Dream>>, and <<Buffalo Soldiers>>.

This movie mainly discussed a story happened in navy of America. The nation sent many marines to complete some secret events, but when they died America hided the truth and they could not get military funeral. In order to change this situation, the general took some excessive measures but he failed at least.

I like this movie not only the action is really cool, but it is a meaningful one.!!!

AC Milan

Among sports, I like football best. To football teams, there is no denying that AC Milan is always my favorite.

Actually, after I started to love football, I did not pay more attention to AC Milan because those famous stars who I really liked were not in AC Milan at that time. With my familiarity to football, I started to focus on this team.

I still remember the reason why I love this team. It was really funny. One day, when I watched TV, I heard a song occasionally. This song was really amazing and I liked it immediately. After that, I tried my best to get this song’s name. Through my effort, I knew that this song was AC Milan’s anthem. From then on, I loved this team—AC Milan.

AC Milan is a richly historied team which was built in 1899. It has more than a hundred years’ history. During the hundred years, AC Milan gained countless honors, including 17 champions of Italian League, 7 champions of European League and other champions. In different times, there are always stars playing important roles in this team. To those people who were born in 1970s or 1980s, the especial memory should be the golden time of AC Milan which was built by three Dutch stars. At that time, AC Milan dominated the Italy even whole Europe. It did not lose for 58 matches and got lots of champions.

Until now, AC Milan is also one of the most popular teams in the world. It owns Kaka this kind of star and some potential players. I believe it will continue to produce more resplendence in the further. It can devote more highlight to fans.

Those songs

I really like to hear some old songs these days, I do not know why, maybe it just because those songs can let me memorize some things.

Actually, these old songs are not really old, all of them are classic ones in 1980s or 1990s, but each of them is a kind of memory in different periods of my life. Once I listen to them, I can remember what happened at that time and I still can image something happened around that time. Maybe I can say those songs are the label of my memory.

In the beginning of 1990s, <> was one of the most popular songs in China. The singer is a disabled and at that time China was preparing to apply for holding the 2000 Olympic Game. So a song which was soul-stirring was really needed. <> was this kind of song which was liked by people, especially youth. It is considered one of the most prevalent songs in China.

Beyond, a great band, a great spirit. Beyond was contributed by four young people who were poor. Relying on the love of music, they contributed Beyond Band and published records by themselves. They became hotter and hotter because their songs always urged and encourage people. Through their experiences, they wanted to tell people as long as he or she tried his or her best, he or she could be successful one day. Beyond was honored by people not only was it a great band, but it was a kind of great spirit which was persistence.

In addition, Beyond was the pioneer of pop song and rock in China.

I love these songs, it is like I love those wonderful memory.

Development of entertainments

During my life, many things are changing and entertainment is one of them. Now, I will tell you guys the different ways of entertainments I have experienced.

The story begins with the time when I can remember the life. At that time, of course I was a little child. My parents always bought some toys which are really naïve when I think today. It’s just like dolls and I always played them by myself. Then, I grew up. During this time, my toys were small cars and transformers. They were really interesting and I loved them too much to part them. I played them all the time, including during my dinner and even holding them to sleeping.

Those were toys above. Also, I played games with other children outside. I still remember we played guns with false bullet together. We got two teams and each one had its own base, it’s just like CS today, hehehe. Sometimes we also played squirt gun. Moreover, we get-togethered to make sand to different styles and played earthbags. What a wonderful time!

When I went to school, the entertainments became advanced. I played electronic games by myself or with my friends. There were hundreds of different games and I have fascinated it for several years. Every summer or winter holidays, I played it day and night. Wow, it was really crazy. In addition, I could not forget computer, the computer games. The quality got better and the players could choose any games whatever they liked.

Except from them, my main entertainment is spending time with my friends now. We go out to have dinner or drink, we hang out to have a trip, and sometimes we play card.

With the age growing, the ways of entertainment become different.

CS

Wow, yesterday I played CS with my friends. To be honest, it was a really keen “battle”. Hahaha. We had played it almost for 2 hours. Cool! My hands shook after the game and I was a little bit dizzy. However, I got a bang out of all this.

As is all know, CS is one of the most famous computer games in the world. After 9.11, it was produced in America. With the tremendous influence of 9.11, it was popular with people since it had been around. Players can be counter-terrorist or terrorist whatever they want in the game and they can get real feelings, including gun, blood, and sound.

Since 2001, CS got more attention in WCG and anyone wanted to be the champion of CS. During that time, some great CS teams were born such as SK and 5Kings. The members of them were all really skillful and everyone was a export.

I started to play CS in 2002. At that time, Assault was the most popular map and it was a big map which was played by 10 players. I still remembered I always played it in this map with my friends after class. I had a crush on it that year. However, when I went to high school, I rarely played computer games not mention to CS. Because the courses were really tight and I had lots of pressure. I most forgot CS for three years. When I went to university, I started to play CS again because my roommate really liked it. At this time, people always played in iceworld, bloodstrike, dust 2, cbble, inferno, and aztec these maps. Well, it sounded I was old. Hahaha.

However, my quality still exists~~~

No.1--football

Wow, I am so crazy that I am talking about my favorite sport now.

Well, I like football best. I remember I started to pay attention to football from 1998. At that time, the World Cup was held in France and many great teams and lots of famous players played roles in it. Brazil, Italy, Holland, and Backham, these names appeared in TV and newspapers every day during that time. The world’ insight all focused on this sport. I was so shocked that what a fantastic sport that could attract so many people. From then on, I started to be crazy about football. I watched TV and newspaper every day to get news about football, including teams and stars.

For China, for Chinese football league, I like LuNeng best which is my province team. It is one of the best teams in China and it has gained lots of honors. For world, I almost focus on European league such Italy, Spain, and England. There are many great teams in these leagues and the matches among them are really amazing. I cannot use words to express it. I think you can understand it only if you love it.

In my memory, there are several important football events. In 2000, the European cup was held Holland and Belgium, France got the first place and became the champion of the world and Europe at the same time. By the way, Figo and Portugal played very well. In 2002, the World Cup was held in Asia in Korea and Japan. This was the first time for Asia and China joined in it this time. Brazil was the undisputed Champion……

I have lots of memory about football and maybe there is not enough paper to write if I keep going~~~hehe~~maybe next time~~~

Tequila

Tonight I went to Tequila, which is one of hottest nightclubs in Calgary.

There were lots of people here because a big party was held tonight. It was an Easter party. This was amazing, fantastic, and awesome. There were lots of hot girls and people drank, danced and singed. By the way, most of them were young people. The atmosphere was tremendously exciting. I was shocked deeply.

According to these, I image the life of youth in China. To be honest, the basic education in China is great and many people can get good educations when they were very young. There are nine years of basic education in China, six years for primary school and three years for middle school. I still remember when I started my study in primary school, I needed to do homework every day. There were almost fifty students in a class and I could get pressure at that time. When I went into middle school, the situation was more terrible. There were more than seventy students in one class and only half of them could go to high school. Everyone hoped to go to high school and the stress of students got bigger and bigger. Therefore, students spend most of time in studying. They have less time to have fun or hang out with friends no mention to relaxing in pub.

Actually, I do not know how to evaluate this kind of situation, but I hope youth can enjoy their lives as mush as possible, including studying and relaxing.

Kobe&Laker

To basketball, I like Kobe Bryant and Los Angeles Lakers best. By the way, football is my favorite sport~~~

If I say I like basketball, it mainly means I like Kobe and his team Lakers. I still remember when I started to like them. In 2000, Lakers became stronger and stronger because it owned Kobe, O’neal, and some famous players who were more and more mature. At that time, all of them were in the best condition. In this year, they started to fright for the champion. They got it, they got it. They won the last champion. From then on, Kobe started to be a real hot star. In the following two years, no teams could stopped Lakers’ step and they defended their NBA title. At that time, Kobe had been one of the most famous stars in NBA. Kobe’s time was coming. Unfortunately, Lakers did not gain the champion after 2002. There were lots of reasons like O’ neal was transferred in to Suns and no new ones joined in Lakers. However, Kobe was still the most popular player with people and he had been always one member of all-star.
Through several years’ effort, Lakers is coming again. In this season, Kobe leads Lakers to challenge the champion. They played very well in the past matches and Lakers is in the first place now. With Gasol joining in, Lakers becomes stronger. In addition, Kobe is the most capable player in the competition of MVP.

Anyway, I hope Lakers can be the final champion and Kobe can be the MAP.

Great breakthroughs !

In Chinese long history, there are lots of breakthroughs which contribute to society and people.

To begin with, there are four greatest breakthroughs, that is, compass, gunpowder, paper making and typography. When these were invented, they all were used into life immediately. Compass was used in navigation widely. When the fleet sailed in the sea, they needed a tool to confirm the direction. And the compass could help them to make sure the navigation exactly. Before the compass inventing, people only could use sun, moon or star to fix where they should go. This was not really precise, especially there were some clouds and the weather was not stable. Gunpowder was used for war mostly and it was the precursor of modern weapons. We can image that if there is no gunpowder, how our life can be. Paper making was also a great invention. We need papers every day and everywhere. If there is no paper, our lives can be damaged. We can not live without papers. For typography, our lives become more convenient and effective. Before it was invented, people could only use hand-writing and this took a long time.

Besides, there were still some significant inventions in history. Seismograph was firstly invented in China which was a thousand and seven hundreds years earlier than others. From then on, people could predict the earthquakes and there were less disasters and losses.

In the world, there were still some important inventions which made some progress. We should give our honor to those inventors. Our lives can not be so wonderful if there are no inventions.

Nowaday work

Everyone has his or her own dream about the job what they will do in the further. The most ideal jobs for people are they can do what they want and like. To be honest, this is really difficult.

With the population increasing, it is really hard for people to find jobs, no mention to their favorite ones. As we all known, China has the largest population in the world and the situation is there are more people and less jobs. When students graduate, they will find job at the same time. It is very normal that there are lots of people in the human resources market.

The situation will be severer and severer in the further. Not only because of the number of people, but the quality and experience. Every company wants to hire talents who are knowledgable and have some experiences. Therefore, if people hope to find jobs or ideal ones, they have to make themselves perfect. As a result, many students choose to continue their masters and PhD. On the other hand, lots of students choose to study aboard in order to gain some different experiences and learn advanced skills. These students are welcomed because they are more capable than others. However, the prerequisite is they definitely master real abilities or they are the same as others. In a word, this is a way or choice for people to find jobs.

Anyway, if people want to have satisfactory jobs, they must try their best to learn learn and learn. Lazy ones can get nothing!!!

Jobs

Well, many people have asked me those similar questions about work. It just likes what kinds of job do you like or when you grow up what you will do. I am really familiar with the answers~~~

Actually, when I was young I hoped I would be a scientist one day because I learned more about scientist in primary school. Scientists are so great that they research and invent lots of useful things and they make an important contribution to society. I was really proud of them so I wanted to be a scientist that time. However, when I grow up I change my mind and I want to be an entrepreneur. I am largely influenced by my father who is a businessman. He told me a lot about the market and commerce. In addition, I read many books about business. I found this job was really interesting and had lots of challenges so I wanted to be a businessman from then on.

However, this job is really difficult for people (Well, every job is not easy and has its own difficulty) because it has lots of pressure and people need to face problems and challenges all the time. Nowadays, with the development of economy, competition becomes more and more radical. And it is harder for people to find job than before, especially for China which country has the largest population in the world. So people need more skills and knowledge to adapt to this situation. In some sense, people always need lucky to be successful at the same time.

Anyway, I will do my best to realize my ideal.

Reading week~~

Wow，it’s reading week now! It’s reading week!!!
Last week my mid-term was finished finally. It was really exciting. When I studied in EAP 3, lots of homework and assignments were coming together at the same time. Time is fleeting. Last week my mid-term was coming. After a couple of weeks studying, I should meet the first big challenge which takes 20 percent in the total score. So I needed try my best in mid-term. So I did!!! I hoped I could get a good result.
Anyway, mid-term has gone. I needed to make a good plan for reading week and have a fun~~~Actually, before reading week I was always thinking about what I should do in this long holidays. Now I can actualize my plan!!!
In the first two days, the activity I did is sleeping. Do not be surprised. Because I was so so so tired. I really needed to have a full break. On the other hand, I also could do a good prepare for the left days.
Then, I almost spent my holidays with my friend who was transferred to UC from US. Because he was a new one and not familiar with here, I took him to look around this strange city. To begin with, I took him to some Chinese supermarkets such as TNT and Lemend. And then we went to Chinook and Market Mall to have shopping. My friend bought lots of things because he lived here from now on. So did I.
The time I spent with my friend was wonderful. Great holidays! Great reading week!

Fantastic Dream

I always believe dream is a really fantastic thing. Although the science is enough advanced, people still do not know why we dream and why we dream the things happened in the dream. Of course I do not either.
In China, there is a proverb: you will dream what you though in the daytime when you sleep. That is, we think the things which have happened can emerge again in the dream. In most cases, that is true. I have lots of this kind of experiences. For example, the person appeared many times who I miss so much in my dream, a final match appeared in my dream because I played football in the daytime, and so on.
Sometimes we can dream lots of things which do not have any relationship with us at all. It happens to me very often. I could use kongfu to kill two or three people at the same time, I could go to a strange city that I have never been to, I could have a dinner with a famous star and so forth. Scientists cannot explain why these happen no mention to me. In addition, I really hope I can dream some people or some events because I miss them and I want to experience the event again. However, the person who you really want to see will not appear and the event which you really want to experience again will not happen in your dream. This is really amazing. I still do not know why.
Anyway, maybe there is no necessary for us to know why why why, whatever we still dream. That is ok.~~~

Navigation

In human history, there were lots of explorers who advanced the development of the world. They discovered new continents or new planets so that they contributed a lot to humans. In China, of course there were also many explores and now I will tell a legend about the most prominent explorer.

Zheng He was born in Ming Dynasty who was the most outstanding navigator in Chinese history. To build the friendly relationships with other countries and develop the trade between China and other countries, Zheng He had led many ships to other continents and oceans for seven times. The farthest continent and ocean Zheng He had reached were Africa and Atlantic Ocean.

Through these navigations, China built favourable relations with many countries such as Sumatra Vietnam and Cambodia. In addition, the trade among these countries became more and more frequent. Every navigation Zheng He would take lots of Chinese product like tea, chinaware and silk at the same time he also bring in many special local product such as coral, pearl and ivory.

Zheng He’s navigations reflected at that time Chinese had owned advanced science and technology. They used compass and map to ensure the direction and ships’ position. Moreover, the ships were classified in different kinds. Some of them took food, some of them used for resting and sleeping and some of them were warships.

Zheng He’ navigations had really significant meaning. On the one hand, it represented the most advanced exploration time in Chinese history. On the other hand, it exhibited China’ generosity and kindheartedness as a strong country.

Good way for writing

If people want to learn a language well, they need to do well in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Which one is more important? I think all of them are important and each of them has its own function.

Listening and speaking are mainly for using, that is, in daily life communication is usual to learn a language. Reading can be used in book, newspaper and magazine. When you scan or skim, you need to use reading skills. And then, writing is usually used in academic paper or essay. For university students, writing is an essential part to master.

How to write well? No matter for native speaker or those people who are learning this language, they all need to think about! In my opinion, vocabulary, structure and editing are significant.

First of all, vocabulary is really basic for a student to write. If people want to write a vivid essay, they need to command more vocabulary. So they can use them flexibly. With some good vocabulary, the essay can become better. Moreover, the structure of an essay should be clear and coherent. If so, readers can get the meaning easily and fast. Therefor, when people write an essay they should try their best to make the structure easy to understand. What is more important, editing is an indispensable step for writing a good essay. Nobody can write a perfect essay at a time, so we need to edit for several times. During this process, we can find some mistakes and make it better.Anyway, if people want to write a good essay, they need practice more.

New semester~!

How time flies! Last long holiday has gone and a new semester is coming~
During last vocation, I did lots of interesting things. On the boxing day, I went shopping with my friends all day. It was really crazy! Although I heard lots of things on this day were very cheap before, I still cannot believe that there are so many people and so cheap stuff. Moreover, my friends who study in The University of Saskatchewan came to Calgary to have a visit. We had a great banquet on Christmas Eve. What a good moment! We talked a lot about our new lives in different universities and memorize some interesting things when we were in China. What is more important, I went skating in UC this holiday. I was so excited that it was the first for me to skate on the ice. Actually I did not know how to skate but after some practice I could it. I love this game and I believe I can do it very well in the further.
After a wonderful holiday, the new semester which is really important for me is coming. Because this semester is the last semester in EAP program so I must do very well to pass it.
I heard when you are in EAP III you must do your best, or you can not pass it before. Now I understand it exactly. There are lots of assignments and homework no mention to the exams. To be honest, I am a little bit worried about it. However, when I think I can go back to my hometown after this semester and the great life in the university, I am full of motivation.
