Pizza Party

These days it is really cold in Calgary, the temperature has been 20 degrees bellow zero.Actually, I have not experienced this situation before. Although I heard it in China, I have not felt it so far. Now I got it—the real feeling. When you walk on the road, you face is tight when the wind blows and you need to wear hat, scarf and gloves. Maybe you eyes can only be emerged~~~
Although it was really cold outside, it could not reduce our passion. Because we had pizza party in EAP program today. After lots of assignments, we could have time to entertain and relax.
Noon is coming. Noon is coming.~~~we were hoping that all the time~~~
At 12 o’colck almost EAP students were standing in the corridor and waiting for the pizzas. It was supposed that the pizzas came from Den where I worked at. I was familiar with that how many kinds of pizzas there are and what materials use for pizzas. Because I did it by myself before so that I known whether it is delicious or not. I chose three kinds of pizzas which were delicious in my opinion. During the dinner, I took some photos with my friends and we talked a lot about our lives.
What a happy pizza party! I hope we can have more chances like this~~~

Den

So far, I have not written a article about my job, therefore I want to introduce my first job to everybody.
I am a person who hopes life can be substantial and does not like too much leisure. So I want to find a part-time job during studying. At the beginning of this semester, I knew that Den needed to hire some employees. So I went to Den and have a interview, at last I got this job.
At first, I was a dish washer because everybody needed to begin at the bottom~~~ I’m just kidding. Washing dishes is not difficult, and I just put them into machine after scouring them. Every Wednesday and Thursday I can be busy because there are some parties on the two days. At other times, that’s ok~~
After a couple of days, I did not wash dishes any more and prepared food. Every day there are lots of food needed to prepare, including onion, pepper, tomato and so on. Especially if there are functions, I need to cook many pizzas, fruit tray and cookies. Besides, every Tuesday I need to bake too many chicken wings in order to prepare wing night on Wednesday.
Sometimes I feel tired, but I enjoy it because I can realize real Canadian food and know some new people. I think this experience is important for me and I can learn a lot from my job!

Coll runnings

The day before yesterday I watched an interesting movie which named cool runnings in CISSA. There were a few students here and the atmosphere was really matey. During the watching, we also ate some popcorn.
Cool runnings is a true story which based on the first Jamaican bobsled team trying to make it to the winter Olympics. Four Jamaican youths are good at running so that they want to take part in the Olympic Games. Unfortunately, they tumble in the preelection and they can’t join national team. However, they don’t give up their dream of Olympic and build up the first bobsled team in Jamaican history. They persuade the Olympic champion to train them and work really hard. They use grass slope instead of slideway and put them in the fridge to feel cold. When they appear in the venue, people mock them and consider them as idiots. But they ignore other people’s disdain and win the regard and applause with great sport spirit at last. From begin to end, the whole movie admires the positive spirit and audience can be encouraged and spur.
Like the leading actor, I think everyone needs to do a lot in order to realize his dream even though there are many difficulties.

Commencement

Yesterday, the last day of long weekend, maybe it sounded bad for almost my friends. But for me, it was so excited. Because I attended a commencement of the University of Calgary. Wow~~~
This was my first time to attend a commencement of a university. The commencement was celebrated in Jack Simpson Gymnasium and the scene was immensely grand. There were hundreds of people including graduates, staff, families and friends.
We sat on the two sides and were waiting for the successful graduates. Then, they came in and I saw their happy smile clearly. After this, the national anthem of Canada was performed. <>, I am familiar with it , because I have learned it in my speaking class in China. With the end of it, the president gave graduates a speech with his sincere blessing. He was so humorous that lots of laugh around us. What’s the most exciting, graduates went to the stage with their diplomas and their names were read one by one. I thought they could feel a lot at that time.
Through their best, they graduate and get their diplomas. I think they are successful, because they complete their goals in the University. In the further, they will take their new parts in society. I bless them sincerely that they can get next success.
One day, I will like them, I believe.

My brothers

I chatted with Mark who was my roommate in China in the internet yesterday. After we had graduated from Shan Dong University, this was the first time we communicated with each other. He told me it was really nice that he heard my voice again. I just wanted to say, the same to me, my dear friend.
He studies in Victoria now and lives his own life. He told me something happened to him when he arrived in Canada and his life in Victoria. I thought his life was similar with me, study, party…However, I could feel that he was a little lonely and homesick. Because in Victoria he had few friends and our classmates were almost in other cities. But I comforted him everything would be better and the difficult was temporary.
We both yearned those days we spent together in Shan Dong University with the other two roommates who were in Winnipeg and Saskatoon. We went to class together, we had dinner together, we went to play together. We were closed friends like brothers. What was more interesting, every night when we lied on the bed, we chatted with each other until midnight.
I think those memories are eternal to each of us and I hope you guys will be better and better, including me~~~ We are best brothers forever

Happy weekend~

Yesterday was such an excellent day that I spent happy time with my friends~
At 2 o’clock, we six people started to swim in UC’s swimming pool. Wow, what a grand pool! Last time I came here but I did not swim, because it was decorating. However, I had been surprised by its dimensions. There were two pools, one was shallow-water and the other was deep-water. In the side of deep-water pool, there were two springboards which were the most interesting in my opinion. I had not learned how to dive before, even though I did not dive. But I still had a try although the gesture was bad that I leaped into water in a straight lineJ The peripheral were also really good, including shower and so on. What was more funny, we had a competition that who swam faster. There were lots of smile around us. What a joyful two hours!~
Then we had a appetizing dinner to celebrate my friend’ birthday. There were all traditional Chinese food such as griskin, noodles, shrimp…Everybody cooked his fond food and showed them to others. I was so full that I could not walk. Hehe kidding.
In one word, I enjoyed a really happy weekend~~~

Halloween

This was the first for me to celebrate Halloween in Canada. Wow. It’s crazy. You could see pumpkin lamps everywhere and people wore some amazing clothes which could surprise you deeply. Although we have celebrated Halloween before in China, the atmosphere was not ardent there. After all Halloween is the traditional festival in North America J. In Calgary I saw the real Halloween so that I got the real feelings about that.
This Monday I joined a Halloween party which held in UC with my friends. During the party, we enjoyed lots of entertainment including a costume contest, traditional Halloween games, an auction, Halloween treats, prizes, music, and dancing. Which I like mostly is dancing. Lots of students danced with the volunteer at the same time so that it was really interesting. What a pity, I did not. But I promised I would dance next Halloween.
On Wednesday, the Halloween, I exactly felt the atmosphere. Many pumpkin lamp were hanged in front of houses and people wore some scared clothes which they really wanted. To be honest, I did not fear but just a little worried that somebody scared you suddenly.
Halloween had gone in my first year in Calgary, but next year I would prepare well and enjoyed it adequately.
